Deputy Finance Director for Texas Democratic Party in Austin.


The Texas Democratic Party is looking to hire a deputy finance director to expand our fundraising operation. You will be responsible for helping the TDP build relationships with corporations and PACs. Additionally, the Deputy Finance Director will assist the department with projects as needed including but not limited to state party dinners and other major events.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with the Chair, Executive Director, and Finance Director to build relationships with sponsors across the state through meetings, call time, and regular correspondence with corporations and PACs

  • Working with the department to manage direct mail related to Corporate and PAC giving

  • Maintaining a minimum of 20 hours a week of call time to potential sponsors

  • Sponsor prospecting and research


2+ years of experience in fundraising for a political campaign or major advocacy organization. Applicants should be familiar and have experience with email and digital organizing, communications and online fundraising best practices.

  • Email list management and segmentation

  • Ability to track and understand returns from telemarketing campaigns

  • Excellent persuasive writing skills with a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours

  • Travel across Texas is required

Preference giving for experience with the following skills:

  • NGP or fundraising database management

  • Editing

  • Email writing for campaigns or major non-profit organizations

  • Statistical analysis and reporting
